தமிழகம் சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலை இன்னும் ஒரு வருடத்துக்குள் சந்திக்க இருக்கிறது. கர்நாடக உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஜெயலலிதாவின் சொத்துக் குவிப்பு வழக்கில் வழங்கப்படும் தீர்ப்பின் அடிப்படையில் அது ஒரு வருடகாலம் காத்திராமல், முன் கூட்டியேவும் வருவதற்கு வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது.
ஜெயலலிதா விடுதலையாகி, மீண்டும் தேர்தலை சந்தித்தால், கதையே வேறு. 2014ம் ஆண்டு பாராளுமன்றத் தேர்தலில், அதிமுக பெற்ற வெற்றி என்பது எளிதான வெற்றி அல்ல. எந்தக் கட்சியோடும் கூட்டணி அமைக்காமல் தன்னந்தனியாக நின்று, 37 இடங்களில் வெற்றி பெற்றார் ஜெயலலிதா. 44 சதவிகிதத்துக்கும் அதிகமான வாக்குகளை அதிமுக பெற்றது. இது அதிமுகவின் தனிப்பட்ட செல்வாக்கைக் காட்டுகிறது. ஆனால் இந்த செல்வாக்கை, வெறும் இரட்டை இலைக்கான வாக்குகளாக மட்டும் பார்க்க முடியாது. ஜெயலலிதா மற்றும் இரட்டை இலை ஆகிய இரண்டும் இணைந்ததற்கு கிடைத்த வாக்குகளாகவே இதைப் பார்க்க வேண்டும்.
ஆனால் உச்சநீதிமன்ற மூவர் அமர்வு அளித்த தீர்ப்புக்குப் பிறகு, நிலைமை தலைகீழாக ஆகியிருக்கிறது. ஜெயலலிதா தண்டிக்கப்படுவதற்கான வாய்ப்பு அதிகரித்திருப்பதாகவே தெரிகிறது. இந்த அடிப்படையிலேயே, தமிழகத்தில் அரசியல் நகர்வுகள் நடந்து வருகின்றன.
இந்த நிலையில், தேமுதிக தலைவர் கடந்த வாரம் திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதியை கோபாலபுரத்தில் சந்தித்ததை தொடர்ந்து, அரசியல் களம் சூடு பிடித்துள்ளது. அந்த சந்திப்பின் போது, ஜிகே.வாசன் உள்ளிட்ட தலைவர்களை சந்தித்த விஜயகாந்த், பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சியை கவனமாக தவிர்த்தார்.
இந்த நேரத்தில் பாமக, மற்றும் திமுக இடையே வார்த்தை மோதல்கள் கடுமையாகத் தொடங்கியுள்ளன.
கடந்த சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தல் சமயத்தில், அதிமுக தேமுதிக கூட்டணி ஏற்படுமா என்று பெருத்த சந்தேகம் இருந்த சமயத்தில், போயஸ் தோட்டத்துக்கே நேராகச் சென்று, ஜெயலலிதாவைப் பார்த்து பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தினார். யாருக்காகவும் காத்திராத ஜெயலலிதாவை, அந்த சமயத்தில் காக்க வைத்தார் விஜயகாந்த். சொத்துக் குவிப்பு வழக்கிலிருந்து விடுபட, ஆட்சியைப் பிடித்தே ஆக வேண்டிய கட்டாயத்தில் இருந்த ஜெயலலிதா, வேறு வழியே இன்றி, விஜயகாந்துக்காக காத்திருந்தார். அவ்வாறு காத்திருந்தபோது, ஜெயலலிதா தன்னோடு இருந்த ஒரு பத்திரிக்கையாளரிடம் சொன்னது, “என் தலையெழுத்து, இந்த மாதிரி ஆளு கூடவெல்லாம் கூட்டணி வைக்க வேண்டியதா இருக்கு” என்பதே.
ஏனென்றால், அதற்கு முந்தைய சட்டசபையில், ஒற்றை எம்எல்ஏவாக இருந்த விஜயகாந்தை, சட்டசபைக்கு குடித்து விட்டு வருகிறார் என்று ஜெயலலிதா குற்றம் சாட்டியதும், பதிலுக்கு விஜயகாந்த், நீங்கள் ஊற்றிக் கொடுத்தீர்களா என்று எதிர் கேள்வி கேட்ட நாகரீகமான அரசியல் விவாதங்கள் நடைபெற்றன. ஆனால் திமுக என்ற சக்தியை வீழ்த்த வேண்டுமே என்ற ஒற்றைப் புள்ளியில் விஜயகாந்தும், ஜெயலலிதாவும் இணைந்தனர்.
2011 தேர்தலில், ஜெயலலிதா, தேமுதிக, இரண்டு இடதுசாரிகள், மனிதநேய மக்கள் கட்சி, புதிய தமிழகம், மற்றும் ஃபார்வார்ட் ப்ளாக் ஆகிய கட்சிகளோடு தேர்தலை சந்தித்தார். திமுகவோ, காங்கிரஸ், விடுதலை சிறுத்தைகள், பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சி, கொங்கு நாடு முன்னேற்றக் கட்சி, மற்றும் முஸ்லீம் லீக் கட்சியோடு தேர்தலை சந்தித்தது. தேர்தல் முடிவுகள் அதிமுகவுக்கு அருதிப் பெரும்பான்மையை தந்தது. திமுக மீது இருந்த கோபம் காரணமாக மக்கள் எதிர்க்கட்சி அந்தஸ்தைக் கூட தர மறுத்து விட்டனர்.
29 எம்எல்ஏக்களை பெற்று, விஜயகாந்த் எதிர்க்கட்சித் தலைவர் என்ற அந்தஸ்தை பெற்றார். திமுக மூன்றாவது இடத்துக்கு தள்ளப்பட்டது. வழக்கமாக வெற்றி பெற்ற பின், தனது கூட்டணிக் கட்சிகளை எட்டி உதைப்பதை 1991ம் ஆண்டு முதல் வழக்கமாக வைத்திருந்த ஜெயலலிதா, சட்டப்பேரவையிலேயே அவரோடு நேருக்கு நேராக மோதி, அவரது கட்சி எம்எல்ஏக்களில், 8 பேரை கட்சித் தாவ வைத்தார். இதனால் கடுமையான கோபத்தில் இருக்கும் விஜயகாந்த்துக்கு, அடுத்த தேர்தலில், ஜெயலலிதாவின் எதிர் அணியில் இருக்க வேண்டிய கட்டாயம்.
இந்த காரணத்தின் அடிப்படையிலேயே திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதியை சந்திக்க முயற்சி எடுத்தார். பொதுவாக எந்த அரசியல் நடவடிக்கைகளிலும் தேர்தல் சமயத்தைத் தவிர தீவிரம் காட்டாத விஜயகாந்த், மேகதூது அணை விவகாரமாக திமுக தலைவரையும், பொருளாளர் ஸ்டாலினையும், அறிவாலயத்துக்கே சென்று சந்தித்ததும், தமிழ்நாடு காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் தலைவர் ஈவிகேஎஸ் இளங்கோவனை சந்தித்ததும், பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சியைத் தவிர அனைத்து கட்சியின் பிரதிநிதிகளையும் சந்தித்து, பிரதமரை சந்திக்க டெல்லி சென்றதும், தமிழக அரசியல் களம் சூடு பிடித்துள்ளதையே காட்டுகிறது.
இது ஒரு புறம் என்றால், திமுக பொருளாளர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின், தமிழக முதல்வர் ஓ பன்னீர்செல்வத்துக்கு, திறந்த மடல் ஒன்றை எழுதினார். அந்த மடலில்,
“மக்களின் தேவைகளை பூர்த்தி செய்ய இப்போதாவது முயற்சி செய்வீர்களா? தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்கள் நலனில் கொஞ்சமாவது அக்கறை காட்டுவீர்களா? இந்த கடிதத்தை நிறைவு செய்யும் முன்பு இறுதியாக ஒரு கேள்வியை உங்களிடம் கேட்க ஆசைப்படுகிறேன். உங்களிடம் மட்டுமல்ல, அ.தி.மு.க.வின் உறுப்பினர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரிடமும் கேட்க விரும்புகிறேன். “உங்களது முதல் கடமை தமிழக மக்கள் நலனுக்காகப் பாடுபடுவதா? அல்லது நீதிமன்றத்தால் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள உங்கள் கட்சி தலைவியின் நலனுக்காக மட்டும் பாடுபடுவதா?” இந்த கேள்விக்கு மனச்சாட்சியை தொட்டு பதில் அளிக்கும் துணிச்சல் உங்களுக்கு உண்டா ?”
என்று கேள்வி எழுப்பியிருந்தார்.
இதற்கு ஓ.பன்னீர்செல்வமோ, அதிமுகவைச் சேர்ந்த வேறு எவரோ பதிலளிக்கவில்லை. மாறாக, அன்புமணி ராமதாஸ் ஸ்டாலினோடு மல்லுக்கு நின்றார்.
தமிழகத்தின் ஆம் ஆத்மி என்ற கனவோடு இருந்த பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சியின் வாரிசு அன்புமணிக்கும், பாமகவுக்கும், விஜயகாந்த் தங்களை புறக்கணித்து விட்டு, அனைத்து கட்சிகளை ஒன்றிணைத்து, பிரதமரை சந்திக்கச் சென்றது துளியும் பிடிக்கவில்லை. ஸ்டாலின் முதல்வர் பன்னீர்செல்வத்துக்கு கடிதம் எழுதினார் என்பதற்காக, அக்கடிதத்தை எழுதுவதற்கு ஸ்டாலினுக்கு என்ன தகுதி இருக்கிறது என்று, ஸ்டாலினுக்கு திறந்த மடல் எழுதினார் அன்புமணி.
அவரது கடிதத்தில் திமுகவின் பல்வேறு குறைகளை சுட்டிக்காட்டியிருந்தார். இறுதியாக
“தி.மு.க., அ.தி.மு.க – ஒரே நாணயத்தின் இரு பக்கங்கள் : தமிழகம் இதுவரை கண்ட ஆட்சிகளில் இப்போதைய அ.தி.மு.க. ஆட்சியை விட மிக மிக மோசமான ஆட்சியைப் பார்க்க முடியாது. இன்றைய நிலையில் தமிழகத்தில் வளர்ச்சிப் பணிகளோ அல்லது மக்கள் நலப்பணிகளோ நடைபெறவில்லை. கோவில்களில் பூஜை செய்தல், தீச்சட்டி ஏந்துதல், காவடி எடுத்தல் போன்ற பணிகள் மட்டுமே நடக்கின்றன.எங்கும் ஊழல் தலைவிரித்தாடுகிறது. நிர்வாக எந்திரம் செயலிழந்து விட்டது. தமிழகத்தின் இன்றைய அவலநிலைக்கு தி.மு.க., அ.தி.மு.க. ஆகிய இரு கட்சிகளுமே காரணம். ஊழலையும், முறைகேடுகளையும் தி.மு.க. தொடங்கி வைத்தது. அதை அ.தி.மு.க. பிரம்மாண்டமாக்கியிருக்கிறது. இந்த குற்றத்திலிருந்து இரு கட்சிகளுமே தப்பிக்க முடியாது. நீங்கள் விஞ்ஞானப்பூர்வமாக செய்த ஊழலை நீதிபதி சர்க்காரியா ஆணையம் அம்பலப்படுத்தியது. அதன்பின் 1991&96 ஆட்சியில் செய்த ஊழலுக்காகத் தான் ஜெயலலிதாவுக்கு 4 ஆண்டு சிறையும், ரூ.100 கோடி அபராதமும் விதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. தமிழகத்தை சீரழித்ததில் அதிமுகவும், திமுகவும் தனித்தனி கட்சிகள் அல்ல… அவை ஒரே நாணயத்தின் இரு பக்கங்கள் தான்.
இன்றைய நிலையில் தமிழகம் மிகுந்த நோய்வாய்ப்பட்டு அவசர சிகிச்சைப் பிரிவில் (ICU) கவலைக்கிடமாக கிடத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்று நீங்கள் கவலை தெரிவித்திருக்கிறீர்கள். இனி அந்தக் கவலை உங்களுக்குத் தேவையில்லை. அவசர சிகிச்சைப் பிரிவில் உயிருக்குப் போராடும் நோயாளியைக் கூட காப்பாற்றும் சக்தி மருத்துவர்களுக்கு உண்டு. அந்த வகையில் மக்கள் விருப்பப்படி பா.ம.க. ஆட்சிக்கு வந்தபின்னர் கவலைக்கிடமாக உள்ள தமிழகத்தை மருத்துவராகிய நான் குணப்படுத்தி நல்ல நிலைக்கு கொண்டு வருவேன்.”
என்று அன்புமணி கடிதம் எழுதினார்.
அன்புமணியின் கடிதத்துக்கு, ஸ்டாலினோ, திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதியோ பதிலளிக்கவில்லை. மாறாக, திமுக முன்னாள் எம்.பி தாமரைச்செல்வன் எழுதிய பதிலில்,
“தமிழக முதலமைச்சர் ஓ. பன்னீர்செல்வத்துக்கு திமுக பொருளாளர் ஸ்டாலின் கடிதம் எழுதினார். அதற்கு இதுவரை முதலமைச்சரிடமிருந்து பதில் வரவில்லை. ஆனால் அழைப்பே இல்லாமல் திருமணத்திற்கு ஆஜராகியிருக்கும் டாக்டர் அன்புமணி குறிப்பாக திராவிட இயக்கம் வளர்த்த தொட்டிலில் வளர்ந்து டாக்டர் பட்டம் பெற்ற அன்புமணி இன்றைக்கு பதில் சொல்கிறேன் என்ற போர்வையில் திக்குத் தெரியாமல் பாய்ந்திருக்கிறார்.
அன்புமணிக்கு பழைய அரசியல் தெரியாமல் போயிருக்கலாம். குறைந்த பட்சம் அவர் தனது தந்தையிடமாவது கேட்டுத் தெரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கலாம். “தேர்தல் திருடர்கள் பாதை” என்றும் “தேர்தலை புறக்கணிப்போம்” என்று கூறித்தானே இந்த சமுதாயத்தை வளைத்துப் போட நினைத்தீர்கள். பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சி துவங்கிய பிறகு “என் உயிர்மூச்சு உள்ளவரை நானோ அல்லது என் வாரிசுகளோ எம்.எல்.ஏ. அல்லது எம்.பி. பதவிக்கு போட்டியிடமாட்டோம்” என்றுதானே உரக்கக் குரல் எழுப்பி நலிவடைந்து கிடந்த வன்னியர் சமுதாயத்தை ஏமாற்றினீர்கள்?
ஆனால் எங்கள் தலைவர் கலைஞர் அப்படியல்ல. வன்னியர் சமுதாயத்திற்காக இடஒதுக்கீடு கிடைக்காமல் தவித்த போது கை தூக்கி விட தலைவர் கலைஞர்தான். அன்று கூட அவர் தன்னிச்சையாக இட ஒதுக்கீட்டை அறிவித்திருக்கலாம். ஆனால் அன்புமணி ராமதாஸின் தந்தையை அழைத்துப் பேசி வன்னியர் சமுதாயத்திற்காகமுதன் முதலில் 20 சதவீத இட ஒதுக்கீட்டும் மத்திய அரசில் வன்னியர் ஒருவருக்கு கேபினட் அமைச்சர் பதவியும் கொடுத்தவர்தான் கருணாநிதி. இல்லையென்று அன்புமணியால் மறுக்க முடியுமா?
இப்படி ஏதாவது ஒரு சாதனையை மத்திய சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சராக கோலோச்சிய டாக்டர் அன்புமணி தன் துறையில் வன்னிய சமுதாயத்திற்காக செய்ததாகக் கூற முடியுமா? அன்று திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழக ஆட்சியில் வழங்கப்பட்ட இட ஒதுக்கீட்டால் அரசு பணிகளிலும், தலைமைச் செயலகங்களிலும் இன்று வன்னியர் சமுதாயத்தினர் முக்கிய பதவிகளுக்கு வந்திருப்பதைப் பார்க்க முடிகிறது.
ஆனால் அதை அன்புமணியின் தந்தை மறக்கவில்லை. இட ஒதுக்கீடு வழங்கிய தலைவர் கருணாநிதியை இதே விழுப்புரம் மாவட்டத்திற்கு அழைத்து வந்து கூட்டம் போட்டு, தனியாக நாற்காலி ஒன்றுப் போட்டு “கருணாநிதி முதல்வராக வந்தால்தான் சமூக நீதி காப்பாற்றப்படும்” என்று பகிரங்கமாக அறிவித்தார்.
அன்புமணிக்குத் தெரியவில்லை என்றால் தன் தந்தையிடம் கேட்டுத் தெரிந்து கொள்ளலாம். ஏன் சமீபத்தில் கூட தன் பேத்தியின் திருமண விழாவில் பேசிய அன்புமணி ராமதாஸின் தந்தை, “1989 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆலிவர் ரோட்டில் உள்ள அவரது வீட்டில் இடஒதுக்கீடு பற்றி பேசிய நாள் முதல் எங்கள் நட்பு தொடர்கிறது” என்று கூறியதை ஏனோ அன்புமணி மறந்து விட்டது விந்தையாக இருக்கிறது.
அன்புமணி தன் பதவிக்காக எதையும் பேசி விட்டுப் போகட்டும். ஆனால் இந்த சமுதாயத்திற்காக தி.மு.க. ஆற்றிய பணிகளை கொச்சைப் படுத்திப் பேச வேண்டாம் என்று தாழ்மையுடன் கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன்.
வன்னிய சமுதாயத்தின் காவலனாக தொன்று தொட்டு நின்று வரும் தலைவர் கருணாநிதி தலைமையிலான திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழக ஆட்சியை குறை சொல்ல இந்த சமுதாயத்திற்காக ஒரு துரும்பைக் கூட எடுத்துப் போடாத அன்புமணி ராமதாஸ் சொல்வதற்கு தார்மீக உரிமை இல்லை.
மத்திய அமைச்சரவையில் சுகாதாரத் துறை அமைச்சராக இருந்தார் அன்புமணி. மத்திய அரசு பணியில் வன்னியர்களுக்கு 2 சதவீத இட ஒதுக்கீடு வேண்டும் என்பது பற்றி என்றைக்காவது அவர் கோரிக்கை வைத்தது உண்டா? அது போகட்டும் வன்னியர் சமுதாய நலனிற்காக என்றைக்காவது ஒரு நாள் பாராளுமன்றத்தில் இவர் பேசியதுண்டா?
தமிழுக்கு தி.மு.க. ஆட்சியில் என்ன செய்தார்கள் என்கிறார் அன்புமணி ராமதாஸ். இதோ அவரது தந்தை தலைவர் கலைஞர் சமச்சீர் கல்வி கொண்டு வந்த போது பாராட்ட வில்லையா? அக்கல்வியை அடித்தட்டு மக்களும் பயன்பெற வேண்டும் என்று கொண்டு வந்தது தி.மு.க. ஆட்சி என்பது அன்புமணிக்கு ஞாபகம் இல்லையா?
ஏன் அவரது தந்தை “செம்மொழி தமிழாய்வு நிறுவனத்தை மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் கண்டுகொள்ளவில்லை. கலைஞர் முதலமைச்சராக அதை நல்ல முறையில் செய்தார்” என்று பாராட்டினாரே அதையும் அன்புமணி மறந்து விட்டாரா?
ஏன் அன்புமணி ராஜ்ய சபா சீட் பெறுவதற்கும், மத்திய சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சராக வருவதற்கும் உதவி செய்தவர் தலைவர் கருணாநிதிதான். தி.மு.க.வை விமர்சிக்கும் முன்பு அதை தன் நெஞ்சில் கைவைத்து ஒரு முறை யோசித்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
அப்படி மத்திய சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சரானவர் என்ன செய்தார்? இந்தூர் மருத்துவக்கல்லூரிக்கு அனுமதி வழங்கிய விவகாரத்தில் ஊழல் நடைபெற்றதாக குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டு இன்றைக்கு டெல்லி நீதிமன்றத்தின் நெடிய படிக்கட்டுகளில் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் அன்புமணி ஊழல் பற்றிப் பேச என்ன அருகதை இருக்கிறது. ஊழல் வழக்கில் குற்றப்பத்திரிக்கை தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டு நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஆஜராகிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் அன்புமணி இன்றைக்கு ஊழலை ஒழிப்பேன் என்று பேசுவது விந்தையிலும் விந்தை.
உங்கள் தந்தை பா.ம.க.வை துவங்கும் போது என்ன சொன்னார்? “என் கட்சியில் உள்ளவர்கள் அல்லது நானே கூட ஊழல் அல்லது தவறு செய்தால் மக்கள் மன்றத்தின் முன்னாள் பகிரங்கமாக விசாரணை நடத்தி, அதில் குற்றம் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டால் முச்சந்தியில் நிற்க வைத்து என்னை சவுக்கால் அடியுங்கள்” என்று பிரகடனப்படுத்தினார். அவருக்குப் பிள்ளையாகி, மத்திய அமைச்சராகி நீங்கள் இன்றைக்கு சாதித்துள்ளது என்ன? சி.பி.ஐ. கோர்ட்டில் ஊழல் குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டு நிற்கிறீர்கள்.
மத்திய சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சராகவும், நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினராகவும் இருந்து நீங்கள் தமிழகத்தின் நலனுக்காக என்ன செய்துள்ளீர்கள் என்று நீங்களே பட்டியலிட எண்ணினாலும் அது வெற்று காகிதமாகத் தான் இருக்க கூடும். ஏன் சுகாதாரத்துறை அமைச்சராக இருந்த நீங்கள் வன்னியர் சமுதாயத்தைச் சேர்ந்த எத்தனை பேரை டாக்டராக்கினீர்கள்? உங்களால் பட்டியிலிட முடியுமா?
“சமூக நீதி காப்பவர்” என்று கூறி தி.மு.க.வுடன் கூட்டணி வைப்பீர்கள். “அன்பு சகோதரி பார்த்துக் கொள்வார்” என்று கூறி அ.தி.மு.க.வுடன் கூட்டணி வைத்தீர்கள். ஏன் வாழப்பாடி ராமமூர்த்தி துவங்கிய ராஜீவ் காங்கிரஸுடன் கூட கூட்டணி வைத்தீர்கள். “என் வழக்கைப் பார்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்” என்று கூறி பா.ஜ.க.வுடன் கூட்டணி வைத்தீர்கள்.
“ஒரு சில கேள்விகளுக்கும், ஒரு சிலரைப் பற்றியும் நான் பதில் அளிப்பதில்லை” என்று உங்கள் தந்தை கூறிய பிறகும், விஜயகாந்தை தேடிச் சென்று சால்வை அணிவித்து “என் தொகுதியில் உங்கள் கட்சிக்காரர்களை வாக்களிக்கச் சொல்லுங்கள்” என்று கெஞ்சியது யார்?
நியூ உட்லன்ட்ஸ் ஹோட்டலில் தனியாக இருந்த விஜயகாந்தை அவரது அறைக்கே சென்று சந்தித்து சால்வை போட்டது எதற்காக? அது என்ன வன்னிய சமுதாயத்தை மேம்படுத்தவா?. நீங்கள் பாராளுமன்றத்திற்குப் போகத்தானே கெஞ்சி கூத்தாடினீர்கள்.
நீங்கள் கூட்டணி வைக்காத தமிழக கட்சி ஒன்றை இன்றைக்கு உங்களால் சொல்ல முடியுமா? தி.மு.க.வுடன் மாறி மாறி கூட்டணி வைக்கும் போது கருணாநிதி பற்றி தெரியவில்லையா? ஸ்டாலினின் நிர்வாகத் திறமை பற்றி அறியவில்லையா? கின்னஸ் ரிக்கார்டுகளை முறியடிக்கும் வகையில் மாறி மாறி கூட்டணி வைத்த போது தெரியவில்லையா? எத்தனை முறை கூட்டணி மாறினோம் என்பது உங்கள் கட்சி தலைமைக்கே கணக்கிட முடியாமல் போயிருக்கும்.

பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சியை நீண்ட காலமாக கவனித்து வரும் ஒரு காவல்துறை அதிகாரி கூறியது, தனித்துப் போட்டியிட்டால், பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சியால் ஒரு இடத்தைக் கூட வெல்ல முடியாது என்பதே. பாமகவை தொடர்ந்து பின்பற்றி வரும் மற்றொரு பத்திரிக்கையாளர், தனித்துப் போட்டியிட்டால் அதிகபட்சம் இரண்டு அல்லது மூன்று சீட்டுகளில் வெற்றி பெற முடியும், அதற்கு மேல் அவர்களால் முடியாது என்று கூறினார். இந்த அப்பட்டமான உண்மை, ராமதாஸுக்கும், அன்புமணி ராமதாஸுக்கும் நன்றாகவே தெரியும். வட தமிழ்நாட்டில் இருக்கும் வன்னியர்களின் வாக்கை மட்டும் வைத்து, தேர்தலில் வெற்றி பெற முடியாது என்பது நன்றாகவே தெரியும்.
இப்படிப்பட்ட சூழலில் எதற்காக அன்புமணி திமுகவோடு வலுக்க மோதலில் ஈடுபட வேண்டும் ?
ஜெயலலிதா தண்டிக்கப்படுவார் என்ற பண்ணம் பரவலாக இருப்பது, பாமக, மற்றும் தேமுதிக போன்ற கட்சிகளுக்கு முதல்வர் கனவை உருவாக்கியிருக்கிறது. தனது திருமண போட்டோவோடு அறிவாலயம் சென்று கருணாநிதியை சந்தித்த விஜயகாந்த்துக்கு, உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தின் மூவர் அமர்வு அளித்த தீர்ப்பு புதிய தெம்பை அளித்திருக்கிறது.

பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சியைச் சேர்ந்த ஒருவரிடம் அன்புமணியின் யுக்தி பற்றி பேசியபோது, ‘அவர் தந்தை ராமதாஸ் விரும்பாவிட்டாலும், பாரதீய ஜனதாவோடு கூட்டு வைப்பதையே அன்புமணி விரும்புவார். அவர் மீது இருக்கும் இரண்டு சிபிஐ வழக்குகளில் தப்பிக்கும் வரை, அவர் பாஜகவை பகைத்துக் கொள்ள மாட்டார்’ என்று கூறினார். தற்போது உள்ள சூழலின்படி, பாட்டாளி மக்கள் கட்சியும், பாரதீய ஜனதா கட்சியும் தேர்தலில் கூட்டணி அமைப்பதற்கான சாத்தியக்கூறுகள் உள்ளன. ஆனால் அன்புமணியை ஏற்கனவே முதல்வர் வேட்பாளர் என்று அறிவித்துள்ளதால், விஜயகாந்த அதை ஏற்க மறுக்கக் கூடும். அப்படி ஒரு சூழலில், விஜயகாந்த் திமுக அணியை தேர்ந்தெடுக்க வாய்ப்புள்ளது. பாராளுமன்றத் தேர்தலில் படு தோல்வியை சந்தித்த தேமுதிக, சட்டப்பேரவை தேர்தலிலும் தோல்வியுற்றால், கட்சியின் எதிர்காலம் கேள்விக்குறியாகி இன்னொது வைகோவாக மாறிப்போய் விடுவோம் என்பதை விஜயகாந்த் நன்றாகவே உணர்ந்திருப்பார்.

தமிழகத்தில் 1995 இறுதி மற்றும் 1996ல் நிலவிய அதிமுக அரசு மீதான கடுமையான கோபத்தை தற்போது மக்களிடையே பார்க்க முடிகிறது. இந்த கோபத்தை அறுவடை செய்யப்போவது, திமுகவா, அல்லது மூன்றாவது அணியா என்பதே கேள்வி.
திமுக பொருளாளர் ஸ்டாலின், தேர்தல் நெருங்குவதை மனதில் வைத்து, சமீப காலமாகத்தான் தன் பணியை தொடங்கியிருக்கிறார். அதற்கு முன்னால், அவர் இருக்கிறாரா இல்லையா என்பதே தெரியாத நிலைதான் இருந்தது. குடும்பத்தில் அழகிரியோடு ஏற்பட்ட பிணக்கு காரணமாகவும் கட்சி தென் மாவட்டங்களில் பலகீனமாகவே இருக்கிறது. அழகிரியை சமாதானப்படுத்தா விட்டால், தென் மாவட்டங்களில் திமுகவுக்கு கடுமையான சோதனையை வேறு கட்சியினர் தர வேண்டாம், அழகிரியே தருவார்.
மோடி சமூக வலைத்தளங்கள் மற்றும் இணையதளம் மூலமாக பிரச்சாரம் செய்ததை பின்பற்றி, தற்போது ஸ்டாலினும் இணையத்தையும் சமூக வலைத்தளங்களையும் பயன்படுத்தி வருகிறார். ஆனால், இந்த வகையிலான பிரச்சாரம், தமிழகத்தில் எடுபடவில்லை என்பதை, பிஜேபி தமிழகத்தில் அடைந்த படுதோல்வியே நிரூபித்தது. மோடியைப் போல இணையதளத்தை நம்பியிராமல், ஸ்டாலின் மக்களை நேரடியாக சந்திக்கும் வகையில், ஒரு நடைபயணத்தை தொடங்கி, அதிமுக அரசின் செயல்படாத தன்மையையும், அதன் ஊழல்களையும் அம்பலப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.
ஸ்டாலினோடு நெருங்கிப் பணியாற்றிய ஐஏஎஸ் அதிகாரி ஒருவர், “கோப்புகளில் விரைவாக முடிவெடுப்பதில் ஸ்டாலின் சுணக்கம் காட்டியதேயில்லை என்கிறார். கடுமையான உழைப்பை தனது துறையில் செலுத்தினார். பட்ஜெட் கூட்டத்தொடர் சமயங்களில் எந்தக் கேள்வி கேட்டாலும் அதற்கான பதில்களை தயாராக வைத்திருக்கும் வகையில் தன்னைத் தயார்ப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளுவார். ஒரு காரியம் சிக்கலை ஏற்படுத்தும் அல்லது, அரசுக்கு கெட்டப் பெயர் ஏற்படுத்தித் தரும் என்றால் அதை தவிர்ப்பார். ஸ்டாலின் உள்ளாட்சித் துறைக்கு பொறுப்பாக இருந்த சமயத்தில் 20 ஆயிரம் பணியிடங்கள் நிரப்பப்பட்டன. ஆனால், இந்த நியமனத்தில் எவ்விதமான முறைகேடுகளும் நடைபெறாமல் ஸ்டாலின் பார்த்துக் கொண்டார். அதிகாரிகளின் ஆலோசனையை முறையாக கேட்டறிவார். அவரது குடும்பத்தினரோடு நெருக்கமாக இருந்த அதிகாரிகள் தவறிழைத்தபோது, அவர்கள் மீது எடுக்கப்பட்ட நடவடிக்கைகளில் கூட ஸ்டாலின் தலையிட்டதில்லை. அவரது தந்தை கருணாநிதியைப் போல, நிர்வாக முடிவுகளை எடுக்கும் திறன் இல்லாவிடினும், விஷயங்களை கற்றுத் தேர்வதிலும், நிர்வாகத்திலும், ஸ்டாலின் திறமையானவரே” என்றார் அந்த ஐஏஎஸ் அதிகாரி.
திமுக கட்சிப் பிரமுகர் ஒருவர் இது குறித்து கூறுகையில்,
“அதிகாரிகளை அதிகப்படியாக நம்புவதும் ஒரு அரசியல்வாதியின் பலவீனமே என்றார். அதிகாரிகளுக்கு தங்கள் நாற்காலியை காப்பாற்றிக் கொள்வதைத் தாண்டி வேறு எந்த நோக்கமும் இருக்கப்போவதில்லை. அதற்காக, அமைச்சரோ, முதலமைச்சரோ என்ன எதிர்ப்பார்க்கிறார்களோ, அதைத்தான் பேசுவார்கள். கட்சியினரை நெருக்கமாக வைத்திருப்பதும், அவர்களோடு நெருக்கமான தொடர்பு பேணுவதுமே ஒரு அரசியல் தலைவருக்கு அழகு. ஒரு அதிகாரிக்கு மக்களின் மனதும், ஆட்சியைப் பற்றிய மக்கள் எண்ணமும் துளியும் தெரியாது. ஆனால், கட்சித் தொண்டர் ஒருவர் இது குறித்து எளிதாக கூறி விட முடியும்.
கட்சித் தொண்டர்களையும், அமைச்சர்களையும், அதிகாரிகளையும் சரியான வகையில் கையாள்வது, திமுக தலைவர் கருணாநிதிக்கு கை வந்த கலை. ஆனால் அவர் முதன் முதலாக சறுக்கியது 2006ல்தான். அது வரை, தன் கட்சி நிர்வாகிகளையும், அமைச்சர்களையும் நம்பி, அவர்களிடம் கருத்து கேட்ட கருணாநிதி, முதன் முறையாக ஜாபர் சேட் என்ற காவல்துறை அதிகாரியை முழுமையாக நம்பி மோசம் போனார் என்றார் அந்த திமுக பிரமுகர். 2006 ஆட்சியில், மூத்த அமைச்சர்களை விட, ஜாபர் சேட் என்ற அதிகாரியே கருணாநிதியிடம் செல்வாக்காக இருந்தார். அந்த செல்வாக்கே திமுகவின் வீழ்ச்சிக்கு காரணமாக அமைந்தது”

மற்றொரு திமுக பிரமுகர் இது குறித்து பேசுகையில், கட்சியில் மூத்த தலைவர்களையெல்லாம் உதாசீனப்படுத்தி விட்டு, கட்சியின் நிர்வாகிகள் உள்ளிட்ட முக்கிய முடிவுகளை எடுப்பதில் அவரைச் சுற்றி அவர் வைத்துள்ள ஒரு குழுவையே நம்பியுள்ளார் என்கிறார். சுனில், சபரீஷ், டிஆர்பி ராஜா, வெங்கட் மறறும் மகேஷ் பொய்யாமொழி ஆகிய இந்த ஐவர் அணியே, திமுவில் பெரும்பாலான முடிவுகளை தீர்மானிக்கிறது. மேலும் கட்சி நிர்வாகிகளை நியமிப்பதில், ஸ்டாலினின் மனைவி துர்காவின் தலையீடும் அதிமாக இருக்கிறது என்ற குற்றச்சாட்டு, திமுக வட்டாரங்களில் ஒலிக்கிறது. இந்த ஐவர் அணியின் ஆலோசனையே, மாவட்ட செயலாளர்கள் எம்.எல்.ஏ அல்லது எம்.பி பதவிக்கான டிக்கெட்டுகளை கேட்கக் கூடாது என்பது. இது கட்சிக்குள் பெரும் சலசலப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
தமிழகத்தில் திமுகவின் உட்கட்டமைப்பு வேறு எந்த அமைப்பிடமும் இல்லாதது. அதன் பலமே அதன் தொண்டர்கள்தான். அந்த தொண்டர்களை புறந்தள்ளி விட்டு, வேறு எந்த முடிவு எடுத்தாலும், அது திமுகவுக்கு பாதகமாகவே முடியும்.
2014 தேர்தல் முழுக்க முழுக்க ஸ்டாலின் தலைமையில் போட்டியிடப்பட்ட தேர்தல். அந்த தேர்தலுக்கான வேட்பாளர்கள் அனைவரும் ஸ்டாலினால் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களே. அவரது தலைமையில் அந்த தேர்தலை சந்தித்த திமுக, வரலாறு காணாத தோல்வியை சந்தித்து என்பதை ஸ்டாலின் மறந்து விடக்கூடாது. பல இடங்களில் திமுக மூன்றாவது இடத்துக்கு தள்ளப்பட்டது. இதற்கான காரணங்களை மற்றவர்கள் ஆராய்கிறார்களோ இல்லையோ. ஸ்டாலின் இந்தக் காரணங்களை ஆராய்ந்து, தேவையான சீர்திருத்தங்களை செய்தால், ஜெயலலிதா அரசு மீது உள்ள இந்த அதிருப்திகளை அறுவடை செய்யலாம்.
இல்லையென்றால், தொங்கு சட்டசபை அமைந்து, மீண்டும் ஒரு மைனாரிட்டி ஆட்சியே அமையும் சூழல் ஏற்படும்.
இந்த கணிப்புகள் அனைத்தும் ஜெயலலிதா சிறை செல்வார், அவரால் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட முடியாது என்ற அனுமானத்திலேயே. தமிழக தேர்தல் சூழல், ஜெயலலிதாவின் வழக்கு தீர்ப்பை பொறுத்தே அமையும். ஜெயலலிதா விடுதலையானால், கதையே வேறு. பொறுத்திருந்து பார்ப்போம்.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first to congratulate AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa on Monday after her acquittal by Karnataka High court in a disproportionate assets case, which has cleared the decks for her return as Tamil Nadu chief minister. “Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Puratchi Thalaivi Amma (Revolutionary Leader-Amma) and extended his greetings,” an AIADMK release said. Modi’s promptness in congratulating Jaya has been dubbed as more than just a courtesy call as Jaya’s acquittal comes just a day after Modi shared the platform with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee after months of mud-slinging between the two leaders. It appears BJP is looking for new alignments with regional parties to push through key Bills in the Rajya Sabha where it falls short of required numbers and where Jaya’s AIADMK, with 11 members in Rajya Sabha, is the third-largest party in the Opposition camp after Congress. These numbers would become significant in case of a joint session of Parliament too. Modi, Jayalalithaa and her party minus the corruption shadow could be valuable given the NDA’s need to add to its tally in Rajya Sabha where much of its legislative reform agenda is currently stalled. The AIADMK has 37 MPs in Lok Sabha and 11 in the Upper House.
In the final assessment, the High Court said that Jayalalithaa and her associates had assets worth only Rs 37.59 crore against a total income of Rs 34.76 crore with disproportion of about Rs 2.82 crore. “The percentage of disproportionate assets is 8.12%. It is relatively small. In the instant case, the disproportionate asset is less than 10% and it is within permissible limit,’’ the court said while ordering the acquittal of Jayalalithaa and consequently her associates. The single-judge bench of Justice C R Kumaraswamy ruled that the trial court convicted Jayalalithaa and others by putting the onus on the accused to disprove charges of accumulation of disproportionate wealth rather than asking the prosecution to prove beyond doubt the allegations of benami transactions. The Karnataka High Court, however, disagreed saying there was absence of evidence to link Jayalalithaa to the firms and ruled that the presence of her associates as directors in the firms was not sufficient to prove she was also part of a conspiracy. Most importantly, the High Court ruled that the trial court and prosecution had erred in considering bank loans to the tune of Rs 24.17 crore as an income of the companies linked to Jayalalithaa’s associates which was used to purchase property to the tune of Rs 20.07 crore. The value of the properties owned was also only around Rs 6.24 crore and not Rs 20.07 crore, the High Court said. While the trial court had assessed that Jayalalithaa had spent Rs 22.53 crore to refurbish her home, the High Court ruled that only around Rs 5.10 crore was spent on new or additional construction. “Everything assessed is done more or less on guesswork rather than actual price prevailing during the check period,’’ the high court said. One piece of evidence that the special judge had taken into consideration to assess the quantum of illegal income of Jayalalithaa was Rs 14 crore of unaccounted deposits of cash into the bank accounts of a newspaper, Namadhu MGR, operated by a firm with Jayalalithaa as a partner.
The High Court over-ruled this saying this was accumulated through collection of deposits of Rs 18,000 made by each of an estimated 9000 subscribers of the newspaper. The High Court also found fault with the assessment that Jayalalithaa spent Rs 3 crore on the wedding of Sudhakaran where musicians A R Rahman and Mandolin Srinivas were among the performers. “Just because Accused No 1 was Chief Minister at that time, we cannot saddle all marriage expenses on her part. Relying on income tax returns towards expenditure of marriage, I consider that she has spent about Rs 28,68,000,’’ the High Court ruled.

Whatever the merits of Amma’s appeal, her acquittal of all charges will demoralise the lower judiciary like nothing else. In future, few judges will bother to try hard to convict the powerful if this is what their efforts will result in. Secondly, the speed of her acquittal stands in sharp contrast to the dilatory tactics adopted during the process of trial. This is a serious indictment of our justice system. It is not about Amma anymore. But we certainly have to hold the justice system guilty since it acts fast for the wealthy like Salman/Jaya but slow for the poor who are sure to be dead by the time justice is served.

But they are trying to woo more than 7% of that voteshare so that they can increase. But that will never happen. DMK is a party which does not have guts to contest the election on its own. It knows its percentage very well. So they are taking the help of some prestitutes. People who have started writing blogs to bring their own issue into public (Like this person) will write only like this. In 2011 this person wrote articles that harmed DMK ad supported ADMK, thinking that when ADMK comes to power he can be freed. He thought that only because of his articles ADMK came to power and JJ will support him. When that did not happen he started writing bad about JJ. In 2014 itself he started supporting DMK and thought ADMK will be routed. People started ignoring his articles and voted ADMK to power. He has not still come out of that shock. Now he is batting for DMK again, but again he is going to lose badly. People have not still forgotten 2G. He does not talk about that nowadays. If people had forgotten about 2G that would have shown in 2014 itself. Actually, after JJ has been convicted, the anger on DMK has gone up more because people feel that people who have committed such a crime are walking freely and JJ is being targeted. I have no idea what’s being going on Savukku’s mind. I have been a honest follower since 2011 when savukku was single handedly taking DMK corruption and Jaffer sait is after savukku to punish him. Greetings!! Pls get to see the development index of TN for the fiscal – 13-14, you will see and notice that on all the key vectors of growth, TN is pegged at one of the slots in TOP 6. Pls check through if you have any doubts. Most of the parameters we have ousted the so called Gujarat and Southern states. My only intention to support ADMK AND J is very simple. No way we are to have a corrupt free governance from either of these two parties but atleast we can choose the less offensive. What J was in 91-96 was not the same in 2001-06 and was definitely far better in 2011-14. On contrary, K has been only adding his own people to the party, government and reins. It started with MARAN in 1971 and hasn’t stopped a bit yet.. We all know how arrogant and boorish and atrocious sasikala and her coterie were in 91-96 period of their reign…. She was uncontrollable then… News was that even J feared them… If you now come to the present, Were sasikala and her aides let off the hook in 2011-2014 or were they kept in absolute check and control?? If you are an unbiased soul and politically neutral, you would agree to what I have aforesaid. If it was only K and his eminence as a leader and had he shown atleast 25% of the selfless approaches of Kamaraj and Anna, I state here boldly that he would have been the eternal leader of the tamils. None could have snatched anything from him… However he lost the plot and became too selfish and self centred… That’s why people like me who admired him for whatever he was are booing him beyond our lives and desperate to weed him out from policies…

Karunanidhi had said that the coming Assembly election will be the “last one” he will be contesting. So will this be the last time before he takes rest?
M. K. Stalin “The Successor”
Who is Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin? And why is he better than his siblings? He was born to Karunanidhi and his second wife Dayalu Ammal on March 1, 1953 — four days before Josef Stalin’s death. He is Karunanidhi’s third son, traditionally not considered heir material. However, like his namesake Russian dictator Joseph Stalin, he ruthlessly weeded out dissenters and co-opted supporters to be the king of the DMK heap. But unlike his namesake, he privatised public services in Chennai when he was the mayor of the city in the mid-1990s. MK Stalin has studied BA. and is the chosen crown prince of the party. He has been accepted as the successor of Karunanidhi in the party and government only by his supporters and factions selected by Grandpa. He knows his limitations, has rich administrative and political experience as he was also mayor of Chennai and second to CM of TN. He enjoys a rapport with Dayanidhi Maran and is said to be his only supporter within the family. He and his wife Durgadevi have a son Udhayanidhi and daughter Senthamarai. He also has a grandson from his son and daughter-in-law Krithika. His main political goal is to become the chief minister of the state and president of DMK. His son, Udayanidhi Stalin owns a Production and Distribution House of Movies,Red Giant movies and now is into acting in movies. Stalin’s daughter Senthamarai owns Educational Institution SunShine in Chennai. Her husband Sabareesan often pops up in controversies on regular basis.
Early Battles
His battles began early. School is not a kind place, and several prestigious schools baulked at the idea of admitting a student named after Stalin. At the age of 15, MK Stalin started campaigning for the DMK. The template of a successful Dravidian leader had already been set by his father and his father’s political friend/foe MG Ramachandran. One requirement was an engagement with literature and the arts. So Stalin made brave forays into theatre and cinema, but these were distinguished only by the fact that MGR bothered to attend the performances.
First Steps
Stalin’s first political lessons came in 1967 – the year the DMK ousted the Congress party from Fort St George, the state secretariat, and rode to power. The 14-year-old got to campaign for his cousin Murasoli Maran, contesting a Lok Sabha seat. The political bug bit M. K. Stalin quite early; he was organizing rallies and active in the DMK at a young age. His part in the Dravidian movement earned him the sobriquet of ‘The Lieutenant’. By 1973, Stalin was voted into the general committee of the DMK. The next five years was a fiery political initiation for the 20-year-old.
Charismatic actor-turned politician and the DMK’s main vote getter, M.G. Ramachandran, had quit the party in 1974 accusing Karunanidhi of corruption and floated the AIADMK. “What they (Karunanidhi and company) do best is lie, give false accounts, take money,” MGR told the New York Times in 1974. It is also said that Karunanidhi’s attempts to promote his eldest son Muthu (born out of a previous marriage) as a film star and competitor to MGR also led to MGR’s decision.
Emergency
In the mid-1970s, Stalin plunged into the political struggle set off by the Emergency. The year 1976 saw young Stalin in jail during Indira Gandhi’s emergency regime. Karunanidhi’s government had been dismissed before that on corruption charges. He was arrested under the dreaded Maintenance of Internal Security Act (Misa) and was reportedly beaten up so badly in jail that a DMK worker trying to save him lost his life. The party men, however, conveniently forget his alleged involvement in the rape of a Tamil news actress. But when the Emergency lifted, he was unable to reap the political dividends of his struggle as when emergency ended, the DMK was in a shambles as MGR’s AIADMK won the assembly elections. MGR, who had split from the DMK in 1972 and formed the ADMK, won the 1977 elections. Karunanidhi was beaten in jail, and DMK folklore has it two DMK activists died trying to save the ‘thalaivar’ (leader).
Stalin was put in charge of getting the DMK back on its feet, not Vaiko (V. Gopalasamy), another rising DMK politician of the time, thus triggering another of history’s heartburns. Muthu the hero son of grandpa had for a while flirted with the AIADMK in the 1980s, making Karunanidhi drop him forever from his life.
Karunanidhi and his sons were in political wilderness for over a decade after that. It was only in 1989, after MGR’s death, that there was any hope of a comeback. DMK watchers still remember the next 10 years when people continued to elect the AIADMK. It is said that it was Stalin’s hard work that brought the DMK to power in 1989, two years after MGR died. Stalin fought assembly polls from Thousand Lights in Chennai and won, his brother Alagiri was despatched to Madurai to keep a new rival, J Jayalalithaa, at bay.
By 1994, orator Vaiko was ousted from the DMK, totally clearing the way in the party for Stalin. It was also during this time that Karunanidhi banished his older son M.K. Azhagiri (like Stalin, also Dayaluammal’s son) to Madurai for dissidence, away from Chennai where all eyes needed to be focused on Stalin, by now openly called “the heir apparent”.
In 1996, Stalin became the 22nd mayor of Chennai city, built by the British nearly 400 years ago. He whizzed in on flyovers as a solution to the city’s traffic woes and built at least nine during his tenure. This led to corruption charges by the successor AIADMK regime, which jailed him along with father Karunanidhi and the ailing Murasoli Maran in June 2001. This arrest helped reunite Azhagiri and Stalin, with mother Dayalu playing an important role. However, in 2003, Azhagiri was arrested for the murder of a DMK politician who was a Stalin supporter, P.T. Krittinan.
In the May 2004 parliamentary elections, Murasoli Maran’s son Dayanidhi Maran was chosen a candidate for the Lok Sabha. Stalin managed his poll campaign. The DMK too came back to rule in May 2006 — again, it is said, due to Stalin’s efforts. He was rewarded with the post of a minister in the fifth Karunanidhi government. Azhagiri was released from jail.
The party has also made a concerted effort in an image-makeover for Stalin, getting him pose for huge cardboard cutouts in different dresses. However, the ‘veshti’-clad, Tamil speaking, hesitant Stalin made a poor contrast to the globe-trotting, English speaking, high-profile and witty Maran junior.
When the Maran family paper “Dinakaran” ran an opinion poll survey result in June which said that people preferred Stalin to Azhagiri as chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Karunanidhi used the opportunity to oust Dayanidhi from the DMK, making Stalin and Azhagiri the sole inheritors of his political power. By that time Karunanidhi was telling his audience: “… I also want to retire….”. He also wrote “Make way for the Young” in the party organ “Murasoli”.
The Brothers
Throughout this period, the brothers were a study in contrast. Where Alagiri was loud and boisterous, Stalin was quiet and calculating. When Alagiri reacted violently to the Maran-owned daily Dinakaran publishing a popularity poll favouring Stalin, the latter remained silent. While Alagiri safeguarded his pocket borough, Stalin cunningly peppered party organisational structures with his men and curbed dissent. He was rewarded with the post of deputy chief minister in 2009.
Alagiri, who had been counting on his clout in Madurai, suddenly found that rules for elections in the party organisation had been changed. The kin of senior leaders were disqualified from contesting for party posts in the youth wing. The entire hierarchy of senior leaders, many of whom supported Alagiri, found that their children couldn’t contest.
The new “merit” list of youth-wing leaders, some of whom were also made district secretaries, were loyalists of Stalin. “As the south zone organising secretary, when my word had not been given due respect, how will the district secretaries from the southern districts take my advice or obey my orders?” Alagiri asked in bewilderment.It was a coup, in the best traditions of revolution.
The Half-Sister
In the rivalry of the two brothers, their half-sister Kanimozhi has been largely ignored by the media — but not by Stalin. While her arrest in the 2G case may have hurt her political prospects, she has received the sympathy of a section of voters who felt she had been singled out for punishment. “Stalin has been hesitant in reacting to any overtures from Kanimozhi, as he feels that she gained a lot of sympathy when she was denied bail and jailed for months,” said a party leader.
To counter that, he has been busy promoting women’s self-help groups and cultural forums. He may not have the charisma or literary reputation of his father, nor the colourful private life, but MK Stalin, or Thalapathi (the Lieutenant) as he is known, has learnt the lessons of history well. Power comes from various sources; in Indian dynastic politics it frequently comes to those who wait.
The future of DMK?
However, Stalin’s trusted lieutenants are much richer than their leader. The process of filing of nomination has only begun and two of Stalin’s loyalists have declared assets worth much more than him. While Stalin declared wealth and assets, including those in the name of his wife, worth Rs 1.2 crore – his Man Friday E.V. Velu is worth over Rs 7.8 crore. Velu’s worth in the 2006 assembly elections was Rs 1 lakh, according to a PTI report. It shows that Velu’s riches grew by 780 times over a period of five years. Known for his political acumen and efficiency, Velu, who is part of the coterie of Stalin, was the state food minister and a millionaire by his own admission.
So will this be the future of TN or will the future heirs (Vasan, Anbumani etc) of the political fathers join the battle stay tuned!!!!!!

In general, there is a wrong opinion about DMK and its all leaders among majority of the people of all secotors. Particularly, whenever, someone is reported to have been corrupted, I could see many comments saying that the level of corruption committed by this person is lesser than that committed by DMK leaders. Corruption is a corruption irrespective of the volume. Why corruption by a person should be compared with that of others.
Secondly, everyone says that DMK period was family centered. My question is who is Sasikala, Sudhakaran, Dhinakaran, Bhaskaran, Ilavarasi, etc. Although, they are not biologically related to Jayalalitha, they live (or lived) with her in the same house. Are they not equivalent to be relatives of Jayalalitha? Who is Anbumani? Doesn’t PMK have senior leaders who have contributed better to PMK’s growth? Who is GK Vasan? Till the demise of GK Moopanar, where was he? Who are Satish and Premalatha to DMDK? Can anyone say, Satish and Premalatha will be treated at par with other leaders in DMDK, if they come to power? This situation is not just there in TN alone, it is common throughout India. eg: Navin Patnaik (s/o Biju Patnaik), Om Prakash Chowthala (s/o Devilal), Utav Thakare, Kumarasamy Gowda, Omar Abdulla, Ajit Singh, Muralidharan Nair etc. So, blaming DMK’s ruling alone is family centred is not fully correct.
In my opinion, both corruption and inheritance of power directly or indirectly by heirs of politicians are inevitable in India. Vindicating DMK alone in this subject is not correct. I get a opinion that certain group of people plan and propagte such a feeling and everyone start beleiving this as correct.
So, when we assess a party or leader for voting, we are forced to see someother vital things say, infra structure development, hard working, approachable nature, capability to understand people’s problem etc.
It is still a perfect comment of Mr Sivan as it logically questions Suvukku’s Post about ADMK and DMK… It is not unilateral and Suvukku discusses about J is purely intentional and biased …. It’s not relevant to compare Indian Political example to substantiate what DMK did was something usual…

I have been following savukku, for quite a long time. When DMK was in power, he has brought out many corruption done by DMK. I thought he was one of the reason for DMK’s failure in 2011.
If you say Jaya’s in Jaya’s rule people do not have complaints, yes, they may not have complaints as nothing is directly hit at them. But where is the common issues of the STATE???
No new big industries have come to TN in the last 4 years. No new power projects was started to be self sufficient (power is procured from Adani for higher rate)
The entire state functionary is in stand still…. the ministers want to run from temple to temple as they wasn’t to save their seat.
Agree that DMK had kitchen cabinets.. but what do you say about Sasi, Ilavarasi, etc.. they are the ones to influence J’s decisions…
If you say DMK has done 1700000000000000000000 corruption in 2G… think even the current govt, cannot bring in so much money for 3G auction… so it was only false allegation….
In DMK period, I agree there was corruption, but the state’s development was also taken care off.. but in this govt. there is only corruption going on… they had forgot about the state’s development.

dr mr hemanathan.. please agree savukku become total dmk. i 200% agree with sivan. just because savukku brought dmk issues in 2011 and now aiadmk in 2015 doesn’t make savukku neutral. savukku know the truth and know the most evil of two. corruption by dmk is not comparable to aiadmk at any level. karunanidhi dmk is family run mafia and set lot of bad examples for the state like liquor, corruption, land grabbing and many more . savukku is totally biased. i agree savukku on AIADMK but why to project DMK for that. so all the allegations that savukku raised in 2011 against dmk got settles all of a sudden in 2015 just by they are not ruling the state for 5 years is the question every people in TN got in mind. then why savukku needs to write all this articles now and in 2021 start proejectng AIADMK again after seeing dmk rule.
