It’s Edappady all the way – OPS to surrender – No Dharma Yudham 2.0 – EXCLUSIVE 

The five year old leadership tussle of the ADMK is coming to an end.   As per the nature’s law “survival of the fittest” the fittest will survive it seems. 

It was no open secret that the ADMK is not in a position to postpone the inter party elections owing to the deadline of the Election Commission.   Postponing or cancelling is not an option at all. 

Announcement was made.  That is when Edappadi Palanisamy started making his moves.   He decided to put an end to his nemesis.   He knew all his weaknesses.  He knew all his moves.   He knew all his contacts.   He played well and has now check-mated his bete noire O.Panneerselvam.  

Edappadi gauged the situation.   He did a SWOT analysis.   Decided that THIS is the moment and he is Neo.   

The fear of cases and arrests loomed large.   A man of himself, Edappadi plotted.   On the other side, his Party Organiser O Panneerselvam,  met Gurumurthy and sought help.   A source privy to the conversations said, “EPS wanted to ditch BJP before 2021 assembly elections.  He became arrogant. He has lost his fear.   If you do not support me now, write it down there is no alliance in 2024.   

You throw your weight behind me and I will give maximum seats in 2024 to BJP.  Kindly tell Amit Shah ji.” 

The BJP was impressed.   EPS was informed about the decision by his ‘advisor’ who still has his ears to the ground.   

EPS decided it is time to use the ace up his sleeve.   He dialled TN BJP President Annamalai.  “Thambi, this is our party.  You have your party.   We will look after our affairs.  You look after your affairs.  

Your party is short of 30 lakh electoral college votes in the President Election.   We have 26,00,000 votes.    I may have to meet the press and support the ‘common candidate of the opposition’ in the “interest of the nation”.    Annamalai was stunned.   Expecting to play a “Naatamai” role in the ADMK tussle, Annamalai withdrew.    He promptly announced that “BJP will not interfere in ADMK’s inner problems”.  Till this moment no BJP leader has talked to EPS.  

Through his BJP sources OPS too knew about this.   He too had an ace up his sleeve.  He decided to use his trump card.  He sent his son OP. Ravindranath as an emissary to talk to the son in law.    Ravindranath, Subash Karan of LYCA and Sabareesan are regular ‘glass mates’.    But this is a tricky situation.   DMK is not in a position to interfere in ADMK’s affairs.  All they can do is provide security.  Nothing more.   Only due to this friendship, the corruption case against OPS has not seen the light of the day. 

EPS started consulting his legal team.   The Bylaw permits a temporary General Secretary for a period of 6 months.    He can get himself elected as General Secretary if he has the majority.    And he has.  

There were 134 participants in yesterday’s unofficial meet.    Of the 134, just 5 were with OPS.  Vaithiyalingam, Dharmar, Manoj Pandian, JCD Prabakar and Theni town secretary.  

This will be the ratio in the General Council too.  He has been in touch with the district secretaries and other office bearers.   Most decided to sail with the wind.   The astonishing financial growth of OPS’s family and their stinginess is a universal truth. He helped none who stood with him during crisis.   

With BJP out of the way and DMK maintaining a safe distance, he has now check mated O.Panneerselvam.  

To give him a gracious solace, EPS is planning to offer both Presidium Chairman and Treasurer.   This is not a bad deal for OPS.  However, EPS has one more ace up his sleeve.   

As General Secretary he can sack the Treasurer any time.  Only to sack the Presidium Chairman, the majority of the GC is required.   OPS has revealed his cards too soon and too frequently.   He has become a stale politician.  All his moves were predictable and he has lost his respect among his party men, native district people, and even his relatives.    He is a sad man walking towards sunset.   

Even a miracle can’t help OPS.
