New Tax for FL3 Licenses introduced – Senthil Balaji TAX – Savukku EXCLUSIVE 

On 23 May 2022, Chennai awoke to the shocking death of a 22 year old techie, at an illegal rave party at the VR Mall, Anna Nagar Chennai.  The rave party held at the roof top of VR mall was named as “The Great Indian Gathering”.  The 22 year old techie died of excessive drinking.   When he was taken to a hospital, he was declared dead. 

This rave party was advertised through apps and internet.  Rs.1500 per head was charged.  A total of 900 and odd people participated in the event.  Do the math.  Sources say, several such parties were being held in this Mall routinely.  

The Party

There are two bars in the VR mall.  One is called “The Monkey Bar” and the other is “The Madras House”. The Monkey Bar appears to be a popular joint and youths used to throng this joint on weekends.   However, this Monkey Bar doesn’t hold a proper FL 3 license.  Then how did this Bar serve liquor ?

All the liquor for the Monkey Bar was supplied from “The Madras House”.  The Madras House holds an FL License in No. FL 3/ 9/2020/2021.  From this license, liquor was being supplied to The Monkey Bar.  

Both these bars supplied liquor for the rave party “The Great Indian Gathering”.   Those who are familiar with law enforcement agencies know what is ‘intra agency rivalry’.  All over the world, agencies won’t share the information gathered through sources.   Such rivalry between CIA and FBI, was one of the major cause for 9/11.   Following the tragedy, all over the world, in developed countries, unified command was created and we too have one.   

Liquor is sold and maintained by the Prohibition and Excise department.   Excise department is the nodal agency to grant licenses to run Bars.    Excise is one of the most lucrative departments and all those who held this portfolio are millionaires now.  And the current one is a billionaire.   

Though excise department issues licenses, the task of enforcement lies with the Police now headed by Thiru. A.T.Duraikumar IPS, Inspector General of Police.   Though the PEW police are empowered to search any places and effect arrests, the powers of sealing and de-sealing the bars lies with Excise department. 

On 22 May 2022, the PEW Anna Nagar unit, getting a whiff of what is happening in their neibhourhood descend upon the terrace of VR Mall.  They found more than 300 boys and girls swinging hips to peppy tunes.   They barged in became party busters.   The entrances were well guarded and none was able to escape.  Roughly around 300 and odd people were detained and all their names and contact details were collected.  97 of them were below 21.  

It was at that time, 22 year old Vignesh (name changed) was found swooning.  He was sent in an ambulance and search commenced. 

The search went into the Monkey Bar where  844 bottles of liquor kept illegally was seized.  Nivas Bojaraj, Bharathi, and Edwin Devaputhiran employees of the Bars were arrested immediately.   Subsequently three more were arrested.  

Excise officials were alerted and the Bar was immediately  sealed.  A case in Cr. No. 315 of 2022 dated 22.05.2022.  

Even the seal would not have dried.  On 09.06.2022, Thiru. Jayakanthan IAS, Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, de-sealed the Madras House Bar.   

The Madras House bar is run by the management of VR Mall.  

Who prompted this shocking decision of Jayakanthan ?

The billionaire mentioned earlier in this piece is none other than V. Senthil Balaji.  He is not only the Minister for Prohibition and Excise, he also holds energy.   In the ADMK government, Thangamani held this portfolio and with plush cash, he funded several constituencies in 2019 and 2021. 

It still puzzles several seniors in the DMK why Senthil Balaji holds so much sway over Stalin’s family.  A source privy to the affairs told this author, “For example you are looking for a 800 square feet office for rent.   Senthil Balaji wants to silence you.   In two days, he will meet you with keys for an apartment in Nungambakkam.  While you are still thinking what is happening you would have fallen deep in his trap and there is no return.  Such are the canny methods of Senthil Balaji. “

The source added, ‘he did the same in terms of currency before Stalin’s family and the entire family fell for it.’   

What is shocking is the temerity of the VR management.  An application was submitted to the Commissioner for Excise.   In the letter, the management not only brush aside the death of a young techie, but also had the temerity to seek licenses for 5 new bars. 

The letter says, “We are running the bar with valid FL3 license.   The event “The Great Indian Gathering” was not conducted by us.  Madras Branding Company, of Culinary Concierge Private Limited.   We have nothing to do with the rave party”. 

Here comes the arrogance. “We want licenses for 6 more bars.

Jayakanthan did not reply our queries in WhatsApp. We spoke to AT. Duraikumar, IG of Prohibition Enforcement Wing.  

Duraikumar first expressed about the de-sealing of the mall.  He confirmed that investigation is still pending.   When asked, when it will be completed, he laughed and said, the case is not even a month old. 

Yes, the incident happened on 22 May 2022 and on 8 June 2022, the bar is reopened.   On a personal visit by this author, neither Monkey Bar nor The Madras House is opened till now.  However the announcement says, “Opening Shortly”.   

Our sources close to TN CM’s family say none of the family member is aware of this deal.  Senthil Balaji had misused Udhayanidhi Stalin’s name with Jayakanthan IAS and arm twisted him.  

And he was under the impression that none will be aware of this truth.  Sadly a few are. And they are furious that Vignesh’s grave is not even dry.
